Terms of service
These terms govern the use of Riven during its invite-only alpha. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you act for a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.

1. Provider
Riven is provided by:
Operator details are not configured for this deployment.
The responsible legal entity, postal address and contact address are supplied through the RIVEN_LEGAL_* environment values and appear here once set.
2. The service
Riven is a marketplace workflow that lets businesses discover social-media specialists, keep shortlists, write project briefs and send tracked invitations, and that lets specialists claim their profile, prove they control the account it is about, and respond to invitations. Additional features (negotiation, agreement tracking, content collaboration) may be added over time.
The service is in an alpha phase: access is by invitation, features may change or be withdrawn, and we do not promise any particular availability, response time or result. We may restrict usage (for example the number of invitations per day) to keep the marketplace safe.
3. Accounts and access
- You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
- Demand-side features (search, workspaces, shortlists, briefs, invitations) require a verified email address and an alpha invitation from us. Invitations are personal and cannot be transferred.
- Specialists do not need an invitation to claim their own profile, to request a correction or removal, or to respond to a brief once they have proved they control the account their profile is about.
- You may delete your account at any time under Account → Security.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, bulk-export or resell profile data, or use the service to build a competing database;
- send unsolicited or repetitive invitations, circumvent rate limits, or contact specialists outside the purpose of a genuine project;
- claim a profile you do not own, misrepresent your identity, role or company, or upload identity documents (we never request them);
- harass, discriminate against or deceive other users, or post unlawful content;
- attempt to access other users' workspaces or data, or interfere with the security or operation of the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules, withdraw verification obtained through misrepresentation, and cancel invitations. Where reasonable we will tell you why.
5. Our role between businesses and specialists
- Riven is not a party to any agreement between a business and a specialist, does not act as employer, agent or intermediary for either side, and does not process payments or hold funds.
- Contracts are concluded outside Riven. Any summary of agreed terms the service may store is an operational record, not a contract, and Riven does not provide legal, tax or employment advice.
- Riven checks one thing about a specialist: that the person managing a profile controls the account it is about. Verification, once a specialist completes it, means exactly this:
Ownership verified means one thing: the person managing this profile proved they control the Instagram account shown. Riven checked ownership, not quality.
It is not a recommendation, not a rating, and not a guarantee of the work. Riven does not vet skill, availability, pricing or conduct, and verifying an account is not an endorsement of the person behind it.
- Every other fact on a profile carries its source and the date it was retrieved, and is labelled as self-declared, read from Instagram, or taken from Riven's own records. Those labels describe where a fact came from. None of them is a guarantee of quality, outcome or fitness for a particular engagement, and none of them can be purchased.
- Riven previously ran a manual Riven Vetted review of identity, portfolio evidence and service details. That review is discontinued for everyone. A profile still showing the marker is not endorsed by Riven, and the marker is being withdrawn.
- Riven can withdraw a verification — because the account authorisation was removed, because the account was released to a different profile, or because the profile misrepresented itself — with a stated reason. Riven cannot grant verification by hand: it is recorded only when the account itself proves it, and a specialist who loses it restores it by verifying again.
6. Specialist profiles and public data
Unclaimed profiles are assembled from publicly available professional information and labelled accordingly. The owner of a profile can claim it, correct it, or request suppression or removal at any time through the correction and removal form. How we process profile data is described in the privacy notice.
7. Your content
You keep all rights to the briefs, messages, portfolio links and other content you submit. You grant Riven the non-exclusive right to store, display and transmit that content as needed to operate the service for you and the people you share it with. You are responsible for having the rights to what you submit.
8. Fees
The alpha is free of charge unless a separate written agreement (for example a design-partner arrangement) says otherwise. Claiming a profile, verifying it and responding to invitations are free for specialists, and profile ranking is never sold.
9. Availability, changes and termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue the alpha or parts of it at any time, and will try to give reasonable notice. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms or where required by law.
10. Liability
The service is provided as-is during the alpha. To the extent permitted by law, Riven is liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and for breach of essential contractual obligations (limited to foreseeable, typical damage). Riven is not liable for the conduct, performance or content of businesses or specialists, or for the outcome of any engagement arranged through the service. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.
11. Governing law, changes, contact
These terms are governed by the law of the provider's registered seat stated in the imprint, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the service before they take effect. Questions about these terms go to the contact address above.
